Why use Claude Code with your store's apps
- One place for theme and app work. Edit a section in your theme and set up the matching offer or popup in the same session.
- Reports on demand. Ask for a summary of every EA app's numbers before a sale or a client call.
- Agencies and developers. Work across client stores from one connection: each store is added on its Connect to AI page by someone with access to that store.
How to add the EA Ecommerce Apps connector to Claude Code
You need Claude Code and access to the Shopify admin of a store with at least one EA app. The fastest way: open Connect to AI in any EA app, choose Claude Code and copy the prompt into Claude Code; it adds the server and starts the sign-in for you. To do it by hand:
- Add the server. In your terminal, run
claude mcp add --transport http ea-ecommerce-apps https://mcp.easyappsecom.com/mcp. Add--scope userto use it in every project. - Authenticate. In Claude Code, run
/mcp, choose ea-ecommerce-apps and select Authenticate. Your browser opens the sign-in page. - Pick your store. Pick one of your EA apps; with more than one store, type the store address first.
- Allow it in Shopify. Your Shopify admin opens the app's Connect to AI page. Check the store and the access, then click Allow.
- Ask your first question. Back in Claude Code, ask: "What EA Apps do I have, and how are they doing?"
To remove it later, run claude mcp remove ea-ecommerce-apps, or click Disconnect on the Connect to AI page of any EA app.
Other AI tools
Any MCP client that supports remote servers connects with the same URL (transport: Streamable HTTP; sign-in: OAuth, set up automatically, no API key). On the Connect to AI page, "Other AI tool" has a prompt to paste into agents that can change their own settings, such as Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor or Windsurf, plus the settings for each tool:
- Cursor: add
{"mcpServers":{"ea-ecommerce-apps":{"url":"https://mcp.easyappsecom.com/mcp"}}}to~/.cursor/mcp.json. - VS Code (Copilot agent mode): add
{"servers":{"ea-ecommerce-apps":{"type":"http","url":"https://mcp.easyappsecom.com/mcp"}}}to.vscode/mcp.json. - Gemini CLI:
gemini mcp add --transport http ea-ecommerce-apps https://mcp.easyappsecom.com/mcp, then/mcp auth ea-ecommerce-apps. - Codex CLI:
codex mcp add ea-ecommerce-apps --url https://mcp.easyappsecom.com/mcp, thencodex mcp login ea-ecommerce-apps. - Tools that only run local servers: use
npx mcp-remote https://mcp.easyappsecom.com/mcp(needs Node.js).
The server is also listed in the official MCP Registry as com.easyappsecom/ea-ecommerce-apps.
Using it
- "List my EA apps and their stats for the last 30 days."
- "Show me what is live in Sticky Cart."
- "Draft a 3-pack offer for the product in this template."
- "Publish that draft." or "Undo the last change."
A terminal can't show the preview card, so ask for the publish link if you prefer to publish in your Shopify admin, or let the AI publish when you ask (if AI publishing is allowed for the store).
Safety
- Drafts first. Everything the AI prepares starts as a draft with a preview card showing what shoppers will see.
- You choose who publishes. Publish a draft yourself with one click, or leave "Let the AI publish changes for me" ticked when you approve the connection. Then the AI publishes only when you ask it in the chat, and your AI tool asks you to confirm. You can turn AI publishing off for a store at any time.
- Every change can be undone. Publishes and deletes can be undone for 30 days from the card, the chat or your Shopify admin.
- Nothing lost silently. Edits made in the app meanwhile are kept; if the same setting changed, the AI asks before overwriting it.
- No customer personal data. Only totals and settings go through the connector; customer names, emails, phone numbers and addresses never do.
- Every change is recorded on the Connect to AI page of each EA app, with who asked and which AI tool, next to a Disconnect button.
